Politicise our buses? You bet I will! – Grove

West Ward Liberal Councillor Ross Grove has slammed the Deputy Mayor of Holroyd for calling his proposed amendment to bus services an attempt to “make the issue political.”

“I make no apology for politicising Labor’s cuts to bus services in Holroyd.” Clr Grove said. “For Independents to expect Liberal Councillors to go soft on this issue is both absurd and naïve.”

“The Deputy Mayor should be happy the Liberal team is out there backing up their criticism of the state government with credible alternatives.

“There is no sound reasoning as to why anyone of independent thinking would find credible solutions from the other team offensive – particularly when I’ve heard no new ideas from the Holroyd Independents.

“The proposal I presented on Wednesday restores axed routes, relieves congestion on Western Line train services and saves the state government money. The solution is win-win.

“We would not have even seen the campaign against the cuts get off the ground had I not raised the issue at a Council meeting in December.

“A number of local residents are going to be worse off if the state governments proposal goes through and I will continue to fight no matter the Independents may have to say about it.”
