SAVE OUR BUSES: Shadow Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian visits Merrylands
Earlier today Clr. Sarkis and I met with the Shadow Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian MP.
We invited her out because we thought it was important the public knew the alternative government was on their side.
She made it clear that she and the state opposition are against the proposal to cut bus routes and condemned the state government for failing to release its revised route map.
It is important to note that with regards to the Region 3 bus review the state government has made its decision but hasn’t released it.
It has been five months since the last community forum on the matter. Local residents deserve certainty so they can plan for the future with confidence.
Our buses are an important asset to our community. I should point out that the only reason I was able to meet her in Merrylands was by catching the 813 bus from Gardenia Parade in Greystanes – a service which will be cut if the original state government proposal gets up.
