Congratulations councillor Grove on your support to have a safe crossing of Reconcilliation Drive. The current proposal to have a set of traffic lights at the bike path crossing of Reconcilliation Drive will be a death trap. There needs to be a bridge built so riders and walkers can cross the road in safety. Something needs to be done now, before the road is finished.

Great to see one of our Councillors adding his voice to the campaign to have a safe cycleway returned. Unfortunately, I think it is now too late for the underpass option as roadworks have progressed past that stage.

That only leaves two options. Build a bridge as originally shown on the RTA plans, or place concrete barriers on either side of the cycleway so that Reconciliation Road never becomes a through road, merely two roads that service each end of the industrial estate.

For anyone who cares about this issue come to the www.build-our-bridge.org website and follow the instructions to send a letter or email to the Minister.

G'day,

As a resident of Holroyd I can not think of one incidence where I have seen this program in action. However if the Council is concerned about bio-diversity they should send someone over to remove the inbred, garbage eating , feral cats in my street. We used to occasionally see possums here but not any more.

Where would this new super centre be located?

Personally I think Merrylands oool, and the existing parks make a great reasonably central location for most of Holroyd.

I think you need to keep some outdoor pool space, as Peter has suggested, adding the centre to the existing Merrylands pool complex would be a great idea.

We really need our Greystanes buses back, especially the 813. We've been greatly inconvenienced by the canellation of these bus routes, upon which we've relied to provide us with a simple connection to Parramatta, (in particular) a very versatile and important place. Buses from the flower streets are minimal and inconvenient for school children, hence we NEED the 813 back because it was one that we were well adjusted to. PLEASE BRING THE BUSES BACK.

I am also sadden to hear about Brian's passing. He will be best remembered for his work for St Vinnie's, his church, to politics and his time on Parramatta City Council. He was a funny bloke and pleasant company. I got to know him durig the Liberal Party's ill fated campaign for the the 1994 State by election for Parramatta. Brian was an absolute trooper, volunteering to operate the campaign office every day fro a few months. It's a sad day and he will be missed.

Mel. This isnt about advertising at all. Feel free to advertise in newspapers, TV, radio etc. This is about a program being tought to school children. As such it cannot contain totally biased ideas. This issue is similar to teaching religion in schools, it should be kept seperate as a lifestyle choice decided individually for the children by their parents.

Dear Councillor Grove,
I live on the far north coast of NSW in Tweed Shire and I live in a small cul-de-sac with a roadway 5.5 metres wide. The area was developed approx 9 years ago and we have Brush Box (Lophostemon confertus), planted on the council verge, that are now approx 11 metres high. In this environment they can grow to 30 to 40 metres and I, together with all my neighbours want them replaced with a more suitable species as the drop leaf and fruit litter all year round. Tweed Shire Council will only remove unhealthy trees due to Federal Restrictions. Enquiries of Gold Coast City Council, the Local Government Area that abuts on Tweed, revealed the same information. The Box Brush towers over my residence and I have two of them. Internet research reveals that the Nambucca Shire Council has a Street Tree Guidelines document which describes the Brush Box as an unsuitable street tree to be gradually removed with no more plantings. The City Of Perth Council has their Street Tree Framework, where these trees grow to only 15m being out of their natural environment, directs that they are to be gradually removed and no more are to be planted. My Shire Council and Gold Coast City informed me that they are bound by Federal Restrictions on the removal of trees and can only remove unhealthy trees. This appears to be contradictory. Please forgive the length of this submission but I and my neighbours are looking for avenues to further pursue this matter. I have already approached our local State Member (Nationals) who is willing to take up our cause. Do you have any suggestions? Kind regards,
Charles Colgan, 1/12 yarra Close Banora Point NSW 2486
